About Owashi Lodge

We’re a group of friends and family from Australia who love skiing and boarding and love Niseko.  We’ve all been sliding down snow-covered hills since we were kids and travelled to and worked in every part of the world that drops below zero.  We’ve chased winters all over the globe until settling in our final destination: Niseko.  We’re that cliché: a ski and snowboarding lodge by skiers and riders for skiers and riders.

We've had experience running lodges in Australian resorts, manned the guest relations desk in Canada and skipped to keep warm at the bottom of lifts in the Chilean Andes.  We've worked in hotels, stayed in hotels, and had to talk fast so as not to be kicked out of hotels.We turn up at the Winter Olympics every four years and usually place just outside the top 100 in the biathlon (but always with a personal best).  We were there when Hilary scaled Everest (we’re not in the photo at the top because we were too impatient with the prospect of fresh lines and strapped on our skis to beat the rest of the crew down).  If you look closely at rock paintings in various parts of Scandinavia dating back 5000 years, we can be seen skiing…ok so we’re a bit like Al Gore and the internet.  And we also like to talk.

Rest assured however, you will get to meet us when you come to stay at Owashi Lodge and you can tell us all your stories. If there is anything you’re unhappy with you can come right out and tell us and we’ll fix it (unless it is a complaint that there is too much snow…don’t laugh, if we had a dollar for every time we’d heard that behind the guest relations desk at Whistler). 

If you think something could be improved then let us know and we’ll do what we can to make it happen.  If you just like what we’re already doing then come up and tell us and we’ll probably buy you a drink or three (we’re not above bribing guests to say nice things).  The main thing is just to come over and have a great time safe in the knowledge that we’ll be doing everything we can to guarantee it.
